The Ochoco Fawn stone used for the exterior masonry was quarried locally. The nearly 200 tons of large lava rock used to create retaining structures and landscaping was collected on the ranch site. Every effort was made to ensure that the completed project blended with the natural setting. | ||
Other special challenges are evident on the interior of the home, where new features, such as the expanded hardwood flooring and woodwork, had to blend perfectly with existing wood features. |

The original red brick fireplace in the great room was reshaped and refaced with Ochoco Fawn stone. The new mantel was cut from a juniper tree on the ranch. It was then sculpted by local and internationally recognized chainsaw wood sculptor, Chester "Skip" Armstrong.
